Homemade Applesauce

Cinnamon Spiced Applesauce

I’m gunna go out on a limb here… Homemade Apple Sauce may be the best thing you could ever make this fall. Not only is it such an amazingly healthy and delicious snack, it’s also the most cozy fall treat with absolutely NO added sugar!

You can eat it as an afternoon snack, pack it in your kids lunches, use as a healthy dessert on a weeknight, or even serve it up with a hot fall meal. This apple sauce is everything you want in an apple sauce, yet so different than the normal apple sauce we buy at the store. Why? It’s authentic. It’s a little chunky, yet smooth, and creamy. It’s not made in a giant machine, it’s made by YOU, and what an easy recipe it is.

How to Made Homemade Applesauce

This Homemade Apple Sauce recipe is really made in just 2 steps and with only 4 ingredients. We need 10 apples, 1/2 cup of water, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. You will start by peeling and coring your apples and cutting them into chunks. You’ll then add the apples to a medium pot and add the water and lemon juice. Place on the stove for 20-25 minutes on low heat until it is simmered and beautifully tender.

Taking a potato masher, you’ll mash the apples just as you would potatoes until you reach your desired consistency. Next, you’ll add the cinnamon, stir to combine, and you’ll have wonderful homemade apple sauce ready to be devoured!

Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions:

  1. First, peel and core all your apples. Chop them into chunks and add them to a medium sized pot. Add the water and lemon juice. Place on the stove, cover, and let simmer on low heat for about 20-25 minutes or until the apples are fork tender.

  2. Once the apples are tender and done cooking, take a potato masher and mash the apples like mashed potatoes until the consistency is nice and creamy. Add the cinnamon and mix until combined. EAT AND ENJOY!
