Kauai is one of the most amazing islands in the world. In fact, it is my favorite of all the Hawaiian Islands. Kauai is not only known for its amazing surfing, beaches, and home of Bethany Hamilton, but it’s also known for its fresh, flavorful, and delicious cuisine! If you’re ever on the Island os Kauai, make sure you check out these 7 amazing restaurants!
Hanalei Bread Company: This place has the best breakfast on the island. It’s quick, beautiful, and the food is incredible. Sitting across from the famous Hanalei Bay, it’s the perfect place to grab a nourishing and protein packed breakfast before a day of surfing. This is not a place you want to miss!
Must Have: Breakfast Bagel Sandwich
Holey Grail Donuts: The BEST donuts EVER!! These are truly the most delicious— all homemade, made-to-order, and the perfect snack of breakfast to eat on the beach! They also have such friendly staff and service. Make sure to check out their truck, but beware, they are closed on certain days.
Must Have: Taro Donut
Kilauea Market and Cafe: This is the most amazing and fun market on the island! It’s perfect for stocking up on food and snacks for your vacation, as well as grabbing some delicious Poke! Definitely check this place out for all your travel food needs!
Must Have: Lilikoi Kombucha
Merriman’s Kauai: THE BEST RESTAURANT ON THE ISLAND! Merriman’s is the real deal! It’s so classy, well-done, and the food is superb! They took such great care of my husband and I on our honeymoon and gave us several free beverages to celebrate. Come here for amazing gourmet food and A+ service!
Must Have: Special Fish Plate
Kai Bar Coffee Roasters: In Hawaii, there are plenty of coffee shops, but most are only sub-par and not something to call home about— except for Kai Bar Coffee! This place has it all: amazing atmosphere, great menu, and fun aesthetics! This was truly the best coffee shop we found in all of the Hawaiian Islands we traveled to. My husband is a huge coffee connoisseur, so that statement means a lot. Their coffee is the perfect afternoon or morning pick-me-up!
Must Have: Shark Bite drink
Kilauea Fish Market: This is one of the best places in all of Hawaii to get delicious and reasonably prices fish plates. This restaurant is very unassuming, but so delicious! They cook your food made-to-order and it comes out fast! They have options from fish tacos to fish burritos, and everything in between. Their Poke is also out-of-this-world! Make sure you stop at this place for such an amazing meal!
Must Have: Fish Tacos
JoJo’s Shave Ice: This is such a fun, unique, and delicious place to get shaved ice! Their flavors are so tasty and the proximity to the beach is perfect. Make sure you stop here for a bowl full of deliciousness!
Must Have: Ice Cream Shave Ice
